The High Tatras Mountains are located in the northern part of the Slovakia. It creates a natural border with Poland.

How to reach the High Tatras?

By car

From Bratislava: by the highway D1 (E75), direction Poprad.

From Kosice: the road E71, E 50, direction Poprad.

From Poland: the road 47, 49 or E77.

Power fuel

The standard fuels are diesel, petrol N95, N98. The fuel price is about 1-1,2 EUR.

By train

By train to the Poprad-Tatry railway station and by Tatra Electric Railways to the Stary Smokovec or other destination in Tatras area.

Currency

From 1.1.2009 is EURO the national currency.

Insurance

In the High Tatras there are European Union standard norms valid.

In case of accidents the special insurance for mountain rescue is needed for all mountains visitors, domestic or foreign.

This insurance is possible to arrange in cable car stations and information kiosk.
