The described direction is from Podbanské through the Tichá valley to the Kôprová valley. It is possible to hike the opposite direction as well.
We hike the trail from Podbanské to the crossroad between the valleys Tichá and Kôprová (0:30).
From the crossroad the trail turns to the Kôprová valley. We hike the trail the longest valley in the High Tatras – the Tichá valley (16km). Less than 12km we walk the asphalt road - the bike road also. Tichá dolina is divided from Kôprová dolina by the ridge from the peak Hladký štít (2 066 m n.m.) - Liptovské kopy. Peaks Červené vrchy create the Slovak-Polish border on the north. Under Červené vrchy the valley Tomanová dolina, is situated with the trail to the saddle Tomanové sedlo (1 686 m n.m.)closed for public. We get to the crossroad pod Tomanovou (1 164 m n.m.) after 3 hours.
The 15min walk follows to the crossroad pod Kasprovým (1 265 m n.m.), where the trail continues to the saddle Suché sedlo (1 955 m n.m.) and the peak Kasprov vrch (1 985 m n.m.). The end station of the cableway from the Polish side is built on the summit (1:30).
We hike the trail heading to the saddle Závory (1:45).
It is possible to hike short to the Hladké saddle (1 993 m n.m.), from Závory, though the return to Závory is necessary. We hike down the trail from Závory through the Kobylia valley to the Kôprová valley. After 30min we get to the crossroad under Temné Smrečiny (1 480 m n.m.), where the trail runs to the Temnosmrečinská valley with lovely nature (1:15).
From the crossroad we continue to the crossroad under Hlinská (1 411 m n.m.) (0:10), where the trail joins coming from the Mengusovská valley through the Vyšné Kôprovské saddle (2 180 m n.m.) with trespass to the Hlinská valley (2:00).
On the crossroad we continue the trail and hike down the Kôprová valley nearby the Kôprov brook. Approximately after 1: 20 we get to the biggest waterfall in the High Tatras - 80 meters high Kmeťov vodopád (0:03). We walk down the asphalt road - the bike road also. After 1:20 we get to the crossroad under Grúnik (1 069 m n.m.), where the trail goes to Tri Studničky (0:45) and the trail goes to Podbanské (1:30).Related valley:
