Trail passes the chalet:

The Rysy ascent is the most popular tour thanks beautiful summit view. The summit Rysy, located on the Slovak-Polish border, has three summits. The biggest one is situated in the middle (2 503 m n. m.) on the Slovak side, the second one is the northwest Polish summit and the lowest one is the southeast summit (2 473 m n. m.). The Rysy Club organizes three days long action called International Youth Meeting Rysy yearly. Its main point is the Rysy ascent as well as to have a good time.
We walk from Štrbské Pleso the trail Tatranská Magistrála červená through Trigant, eventually the asphalt road modrá from the railway station Popradské Pleso to the cross road nearby the chalet Chata pri Popradskom plese (1:00). From the cross road we hike the trail modrá in forest and scrub pine up to the cross road upon the brook Žabí potok. Here the blue sign turns northwest to the saddle Vyšné Kôprovské sedlo (2 180 m n.m.). We hike the trail červená north direction to Kotlina Žabích plies, with relaxing passage nearby mountain lakes Žabie plesa. We climb steeply using iron chains and after 1:45 we get to the chalet Chata pod Rysmi. We climb to the Váha sadle (2 339 m n.m.), dividing valleys Mengusovská and Česká , to the summit Rysy.
To return we use the same way, eventual descent to the Polish side to Morské oko (described in the Lysá Poľana alternative) is more time demanding.

Summit view:

The summit offers beautiful view on the whole Tatras, the biggest Gerlachovský štít (2 654 m n.m.) on the east, the West Tatras ridge on the west. On the Polish side the biggest Tatra mountain lake Morské oko is situated in the 1 583 elevation.

The Lysá Poľana alternative:

From Lysá Poľana - the border crossing, the trail červená trespasses the Roztoky valley to the chalet by Morské oko. From Morské oko the trail runs to the summit Rysy.
To return we use the same way, or hike to Popradské pleso or Štrbské Pleso at the Slovak side.
